What we do
We offer training on the materials and adhesives used for self-adhesive labelling. It's essential knowledge for professionals working in customer-facing roles in the label industry, but also very relevant for anybody working in production and particularly purchasing roles.
The training should enable you to build a real sense of trust with your customers, enable you to identify and manage more difficult applications effectively and to clearly differentiate yourselves from your competitors.
We cover everything from how self-adhesive laminates are constructed and how they are manufactured, to the different characteristics of the multitude of face materials, adhesives and liners. We also talk in depth about the different environments labels are used in and identify those situations that will need specific care and attention.

How we do it
For your convenience, we offer our training material online. So it's available as and when you need it. You don't have to assemble your entire team, individuals can take the training at the least disruptive time.
Content is divided into manageable modules that typically take 60 to 90 minutes to complete. We normally provide access to the material for a full day and you can come and go as you please.
After you have completed a module we will respond to any questions that you may have by email or with a telephone conversation (whatever suits you). We aim not to leave anybody scratching their head or with any questions outstanding.
About us
I set up the label training company, to provide the type of materials training that I wish I'd had when I joined the industry.
We train on equipment, on print technology, on decoration technology, on sustainability, but materials .... not so much? It's a subject that our customers expect all of us to be expert in. It's the core of our business.
I've been lucky enough to work in almost every part of the industry, from making plates, mixing inks, origination, customer service, label production and marketing, to sales roles with some of the most competent and technically advanced label convertors in the UK. I subsequently moved to the dark side and spent seventeen years working in a technical capacity for one of the world's largest material suppliers.
I've had hands-on experience in a wide range of markets including: variable data print, thermal printing, food, health & beauty, industrial, pharmaceuticals, oils, beer, wine and spirits and they all have their material challenges.
The only thing that we want to sell you is knowledge. We cover all technologies offered by all the prominent suppliers completely independently.
We hope that we've put together the most comprehensive and practical materials training toolkit possible for anybody working in label conversion or product design.
As an industry, this is an area in which we can do better. It's also a prime opportunity for businesses to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
